D-Day WebQuest
INTRODUCTION:
1944, Hitler has just gone to bed with the news that Rome has fallen. In the morning the Allies will attempt to gain a new foothold in Western Europe. The largest amphibious invasion force in the history of the world is amassing...TASK:
- Overview: Give a brief 1/4 page overview of what happened during D-Day, include dates, important people, places, events.
- Invasion: Give specific detail on one of the beaches (Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, Sword) invaded by the Allies. Use primary and secondary sources. Find a map, picture or diagram that can be quickly, but neatly sketched into your notes.
- Defense: Find information about the equipment used by the Axis - describe at least one of these in detail - you have the option to provide an image.

- Outcome: Write a discussion about the outcome of the invasion - how successful was it? Do you agree with the delayed landing? (Remember to not use I, me, my etc.)
